My new whale ocarina is in the key of C and has a range of B4 to E6 (1 1/2 octaves). African Sapele is a very stable hardwood with properties similar to Genuine Mahogany. Its interlocking grain tends to reduce major cross-grain movement that typically occurs with changes in temperature and humidity. Its resonant quality has made it a popular choice for guitar backs, and it is my "go to" wood for a great sounding, long lasting ocarina.
Each instrument comes in a thick corduroy drawstring carrying bag for protection.
