Eclipse Ocarinas~Not Currently Available

Inspiration for this ocarina came from the great total solar eclipse that crossed America on August 21, 2017. On the morning of the eclipse I was attacked by a dog. The bites produced deep puncture wounds on both sides of my ankle; and during the next week, a staph infection set in that was resistant to antibiotics. In all, my recovery took three weeks that eventually included ten days on crutches and two days hooked to an IV in the hospital. During those weeks I had plenty of time to think about life, death, and the pursuit of happiness, which for me includes designing new and unique musical instruments. The shape of my eclipse ocarina is reminiscent of those last few minutes before the moon completely covered the sun. Its tone evokes the memory of eerie shadows that engulfed our world as darkness approached.
