Kits

Now you can make your very own wooden ocarina from an easy to assemble kit. The kits on the left above represent the first time I have collaborated with someone else on an ocarina design. The original concept for this laser cut kit was developed by Gene Jameson of Jameson Woodworks who designed all the joinery and packaging. Gene is a friend who lives in a neighboring town and came to me requesting my help in making it a functional musical instrument. Together we have created a truly unique ocarina in kit form that is easy to put together and produces a great wooden ocarina sound. All the parts are precision cut so that they fit together perfectly. Complete assembly instructions are included along with playing instructions, a fingering chart, and free songs in easy-to-read tablature form. A companion songbook is also available.
The inline alto kit on the right above is a design I have perfected over the last 30+ years. I make every aspect of this ocarina kit right here in my shop...from rough Sapele lumber to precicely machined parts. It is larger and has a mellow tone that is lower in pitch. The eight finger holes on top allow the scale to be played easily by lifting the fingers one at a time rather than using combinations. With only two parts, it is extremely easy to assemble and will produce a fine sounding alto ocarina you will cherish for years to come.
